FAQs

SHIPPING

Where do you deliver?
The UK only, for now.

How much is delivery?
£4.95 per order, however many items you add. Spend £40 or more and it's free.

How long will my order take?
We dispatch within 1 to 2 working days, and Royal Mail Tracked 48 usually takes 2 to 3 working days after that. Allow 3 to 5 working days in total. Busy periods may take a little longer, because everything is hand-poured in small batches.

Can I track my order?
Yes. You'll get an email with tracking as soon as your parcel is on its way.

My parcel is damaged or hasn't arrived. What now?
Email admin@kernowwax.co.uk with your order number and, if you can, a photo. We'll put it right.

RETURNS

I've changed my mind. Can I return my order?
Yes. Email us within 14 days of delivery, then send the items back within a further 14 days. We'll send you the return address when you get in touch.

Can I open the packaging?
You may open it to have a good look. Please keep products unused and candles unburned, because use beyond reasonable inspection may reduce your refund.

Who pays for return postage?
For change-of-mind returns, you do. If an item is faulty, damaged or not what you ordered, we cover it.

When will I get my refund?
Within 14 days of receiving your return, or of you showing us proof you've sent it, whichever is earlier. It goes back to your original payment method.

WAX MELT CARE

How do I use a wax melt?
Place one cube in a suitable tealight or electric wax melter, or two for a stronger scent. Don’t overfill the dish.

How long does the scent last?
Around 10 hours per cube. Once the fragrance fades, turn off the melter or put out the tealight, and let the wax cool completely before replacing it.

What’s in the pack?
80 g of wax in a resealable shell, approximately 10.5 × 7.5 × 2.5 cm.

Can I leave a melter unattended?
Never. Don’t leave a melter or tealight burner unattended, and keep it away from children, pets and anything flammable.

Candle Safety

How do I burn my candle safely?
Never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep it on a heat-resistant surface, within sight, and away from drafts, pets and children.

How long should I burn it for the first time?
Let the wax melt right across to the edges on the first burn, usually 2–3 hours. This helps avoid tunnelling and keeps the candle burning evenly.

How often should I trim the wick?
Trim the wick to about 6mm (¼ inch) before each burn. A shorter wick gives a cleaner, steadier flame.

How long can I burn it at a time?
We recommend no more than 4 hours at a time. Let the candle cool fully before relighting.

When should I stop burning it?
Stop when about 1cm of wax is left at the base, and never burn the jar dry.

Can I move a candle while it's lit?
No. Let it cool completely and the wax set before moving it.

What if the flame gets too big or starts to smoke?
Extinguish the candle, let it cool, trim the wick and relight. If it keeps happening, stop using it and get in touch.

Are your candles safe for pets and children?
Keep all candles, wax melts and melted wax out of reach of children and pets. Fragrance oils can irritate skin and eyes, so avoid contact. If irritation occurs, wash with soap and water.

Can I reuse the jar?
Yes. Once your candle is finished, let the jar cool completely, clean out any remaining wax and reuse it for small storage.

STOCK

Why is my favourite scent out of stock?
Because awesome people like you got there first.
There is also a chance we are making some more, testing something new, walking a stone circle, having a coffee, or taking advantage of a rare sunny afternoon in Cornwall.
Small batches mean things occasionally sell out.
The good news is we're probably already making more.
If it's a favourite, send us an email. We can't promise anything, but we're surprisingly easy to persuade.
